Whenever I walk into a casino, I can’t help but feel a negative atmosphere. All these people getting high off this game of risk and reward, basically handing over their money to a few individuals who already have more than enough money to live comfortably.
It’s a strange game of stealing from the rich and giving to the richer.
Most people would agree that casinos have a negative impact in our society. People often leave the casino feeling like they’ve just thrown away their savings for nothing but a rollercoaster of highs and lows.
Now that does not mean that people shouldn’t be allowed to gamble. It is still one of the most popular forms of entertainment in western societies and people have the right to use their money in any way they wish.
We should rather try to find a way to turn the casinos into a more positive institution by redirecting the profits to where it is most needed.
All casinos should be non-profit by law.
Casinos can be used as a form of redistribution of the wealth in a country. All profits would be used to finance charities and other non-profit organizations aimed to help the community.
This will not only allow casinos to have a more positive impact in society, but it will also give gamblers a little more peace of mind knowing their money is going towards a good cause.
